The Community Foundation for Nantucket is proud to have provided the Girls Leadership Institute a grant to bring a Parent & Daughter Immersion Weekend to Nantucket.
For over 10 years Girls Leadership Institute (GLI), a national non-profit association, has awakened thousands of girls to a new, bold definition of leadership. Co-founded by best-selling author, Rachel Simmons, GLI believes that leadership is a way of life that begins in girlhood.
Working in a supportive small group environment, you and your daughter will work on identifying healthy relationships, finding your voice, learning to communicate more effectively with each other, and developing a resilient response to conflict, ‘girl drama’, challenges and mistakes. The Immersion Weekend is structured to balance fun and learning and while building community and camaraderie. You and your daughter will be provided with tools to help navigate middle school and beyond. The weekend is also great opportunity to gain insight and spend time with your daughter in a new and different way.
