Community Foundation for Nantucket Marks 20 Years of Impact with Community Investment Grants from its Nantucket Fund

NANTUCKET, MA — [06/02/2025] — The Community Foundation for Nantucket is proud to announce $300,000 in Nantucket Fund Community Investment Grants in response to urgent  needs in areas of behavioral health, childcare, and food insecurity as identified by its Advisory Committee, nonprofit partners, and other stakeholders.  These priorities reflect the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to a collaborative response to the challenges facing the island and are in addition to the Foundation’s Nantucket Fund Annual Grants that will be awarded in July.

This spring, the Foundation’s board voted to support three critical initiatives which will expand access to preschool for Nantucket children, strengthen the sustainability of the island’s primary counseling center, and help secure a more permanent location for the island’s only Food Pantry. Each of these efforts addresses urgent needs and represents a strategic investment in the well-being of the year-round community.

“We are thrilled to be in position to address the needs our island community is facing and help critical organizations continue to deliver services,” said Sunny Daily, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Nantucket. “As the Community Foundation celebrates its 20th year, these Nantucket Fund Community Investment Grants reflect CFN’s support for the Nantucket community and the nonprofits who provide our neighbors with the programs they need.” says CFN board president Melissa Philbrick.

The Community Foundation’s award of these community investment grants reaffirms our long-standing commitment to strengthening year-round life on Nantucket through strategic philanthropy and deep community partnerships. As a responsive and local funding source, the Foundation continues to prioritize initiatives that address both current challenges and long-term resilience for the island. Additional details on the impact of these grants will be shared at the upcoming 20th Anniversary Nantucket Fund Grant Ceremony to be held July 15.
