Community Foundation kicks off 20th Anniversary with commitment of $1 million in grantmaking from the Nantucket Fund

The Community Foundation for Nantucket (CFN) is pleased to announce that up to $1 million has been approved by its Board of Trustees for grants from the Nantucket Fund in 2025. โ€œThis will be the largest amount awarded by the Nantucket Fund to date and will double last yearโ€™s record breaking $500,000 in awards to over 25 nonprofits for their work on Islandโ€ commented CFNโ€™s Grants Committee Chairman, Lisa Botticelli.

The bulk of the Nantucket Fund grants will be awarded at CFNโ€™s July 15th celebration at the โ€˜Sconset Casino. The remaining Nantucket Fund awards will be in the form of community investment grants aimed at addressing critical needs on the Island. Together these grants will mark the Community Foundationโ€™s 20 years of funding the programs, organizations, and initiatives which support Nantucketโ€™s year-round community.

Board President, Melissa Philbrick explained, โ€œIn its first year, the Nantucket Fund distributed $26,000 in grants. Thanks to the generosity, trust, and commitment of our incredible donors over these 20 years, the Community Foundation is now in a position to commit $1,000,000 in Nantucket Fund grant funding to celebrate our 20th year.โ€

This news comes at a critical time for funding in our community.“This year our community is facing increased needs for critical services and CFN is in a position to meet the moment and respond to the dynamic needs of our community.” says Executive Director Sunny Daily. โ€œWe understand that there are many unmet needs in this community and hope this inspires donors to give generously to The Nantucket Fund, which is CFNโ€™s permanent resource to help strengthen Nantucket now and in the future,โ€ commented Development Committee Chairman Georgine Anton.
