This is an organization of children, grandchildren, spouses, community members and friends whose purpose is to enrich the daily lives of Our Island Home residents. The vision of the Friends of Our Island Home is to help reconnect OIH residents with the Nantucket community as appropriate, to foster relationships with individual residents and their caregivers, and to work closely with the OIH staff to develop goals, implement strategies, and administer resources – in time, energy and money – for the purpose of providing programs, education, materials, equipment and activities which would otherwise be unavailable to these precious residents.
