The Community Foundation for Nantucket is pleased to announce the second round of funding totalling $150,000 in grants from the Offshore Wind Community Fund established pursuant to the Good Neighbor Agreement between Vineyard Wind and the Town of Nantucket, Nantucket Preservation Trust, and the Maria Mitchell Association. The goal of this fund is to support community projects and initiatives related to protecting, restoring, and preserving cultural and historic resources, coastal resiliency, climate adaptation, and renewable energy.
Grant requests are reviewed and evaluated by a seven-member voting Advisory Committee composed of community members with expertise in historic preservation, coastal resiliency, and renewable energy. The members of this advisory committee are Mary Bergman, Jeremy Bloomer, Christian Hoffman, Cleary Larkin, Howard Matz, Maureen Phillips, Dana Rebeiro, and Lauren Sinatra. The grant funding decisions were made with support from the Community Foundation for Nantucket.
Funding provided through the Good Neighbor Agreement was established for the Town of Nantucket, Nantucket Preservation Trust, and Maria Mitchell Association, and makes possible a Community Fund open to applications for Nantucket-based nonprofit organizations.
