Nantucket Offshore Wind Community Fund Announces 2025 Grant Cycle

The Community Foundation for Nantucket is pleased to announce that the Nantucket Offshore Wind Community Fund will open a new grant cycle this month. A total of $150,000 will be awarded to support community projects that address Nantucket’s most pressing environmental and cultural challenges. Applications will be available beginning Aug. 26, 2025 on the Community Foundation for Nantucket’s website, www.cfnan.org. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 6, 2025. The Offshore Wind Community Fund is seeking proposals that align with one or more of the following impact areas:

  • Supporting and promoting renewable energy development.
  • Combating the effects of global climate change.
  • Enhancing coastal resiliency.
  • Protecting, restoring, and preserving cultural and historic resources.

A seven-member Advisory Committee of Nantucket community members with expertise in historic preservation, coastal resiliency, and renewable energy will review all applications and make funding decisions, with support from the Community Foundation for Nantucket.

“The Offshore Wind Community Fund provides an extraordinary opportunity for Nantucket to lead in addressing the climate crisis while also safeguarding the historic and cultural assets that define our island,” said Sunny Daily, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Nantucket. “We look forward to reviewing proposals that will bring real, lasting impact for our community.”
