Nantucket Saves was created to support our island community in times of need. Its current focus is a critical one: organizing local blood drives to help ensure life-saving blood is available both on Nantucket and beyond. In partnership with the American Red Cross, Nantucket Saves aims to “deposit” vital blood supplies into the national blood bank—contributing to a steady, reliable resource for hospitals and patients in need. The Red Cross’s call for blood donors never expires, and neither does our community’s capacity for compassion. We are proud to sponsor a two-day blood drive on June 10th and 11th. Through charitable support, Nantucket Saves is raising funds to cover the full costs of hosting this important event. This includes securing the venue, transporting vehicles and equipment to the island (including ferry service), providing overnight lodging and meals for the Red Cross collection staff, and publicizing the blood drive.
