The Duxtucket Paddle Babes have established this Fund to pool individual donations from its members to provide grants to charitable organizations. There has been a paddle tennis rivalry between Nantucket and Duxbury women for over 30 years, and in 2013 this group decided to add a charitable dimension to their yearly tournament.
In 2013, this Giving Circle donated $2000 to Dana Farber in honor of Lyla Theoharides, niece of one of the Duxbury team, who was struggling with cancer. In 2015, $2500 was given to the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund here on Nantucket in honor of two Nantucket team members, Jeannie Critchley and Marianne Felch.
