The Community Foundation for Nantucket (CFN) is proud to announce $80,000 as a Rapid Response Grant from The Nantucket Fund to address the urgent needs of the most vulnerable in our community currently facing additional pressures to cover rising fuel costs and needed rental assistance. This grant marks the fulfillment of the Foundationโs commitment to disburse a total of $1M from The Nantucket Fund to island nonprofits who provide programs and services for our residents. $920,000 was awarded in July, while the strategic decision was made to withhold $80,000 for urgent needs that might arise as the year comes to a close. The Community Foundationโs board voted to support the Nantucket Food, Fuel, and Rental Assistance Program of the Interfaith Council in response to the ever changing landscape of state and federal funding and the overwhelming demand for assistance this year.
“We are thrilled to be in a position to address the needs our island community is facing and help critical organizations continue to deliver services,” said Sunny Daily, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Nantucket. “This grant reflects CFNโs continued support for the Nantucket community and the nonprofits who provide our neighbors with the services and programs they need.” says CFN board president Michael Cozort
The Community Foundationโs award of this Rapid Response grant reaffirms our long-standing commitment to strengthening year-round life on Nantucket through strategic philanthropy and deep community partnerships. As a responsive and local funding source, the Foundation continues to prioritize initiatives that address both current challenges and long-term resilience for the island.
