On December 6th, 2013 the Community Foundation for Nantucket held its annual Grant Recipient’s Breakfast in the Great Hall of the Atheneum to recognize the nonprofit organizations receiving Community Grants this year. The Trustees of the Foundation joined with Grants Committee members in honoring the 25 nonprofit recipient organizations who received over $52,000 in Community Grants.
The Foundation is in its seventh year of offering Nantucket nonprofit organizations the opportunity to apply for funding for special projects and programs, sometimes even operational or staffing support. The Community Grants fund has historically awarded most of its support to Health and Human Service providers. This year, due to the success of the Grants Raffle this fall and the generosity of the Nantucket Community, we were able to offer additional grants to nonprofits who will offer a variety of programs to wide range of Nantucket residents in many areas of interest. Of particular interest this year are the number of organizations that will collaborate on projects with other agencies to help meet the needs of all community members.
