Thank you, Island Energy Services!

The Community Foundation is thrilled to announce that Island Energy Services, comprised of Yates Island Gas, Harbor Fuel and Airport Gas, has pledged to support the Nantucket Fund for Emergency Relief. We are very grateful to Todd Boling and his team for all they do to support the Island.
Nantucket Nonprofits! We are here for you.

The Foundation is dedicated to making a difference on Nantucket and sometimes this means being flexible, especially during a pandemic. After much discussion the Foundation is working with 2019 Nantucket Fund Grant recipients and Nantucket Community Health Initiative Grant recipients to ensure that grant funds are used in the best possible way for the organization. If necessary, we have released the restrictions on these funds allowing them to use the grant dollars to address current needs.

The ReMain Nantucket Fund is allowing nonprofits to resubmit or submit new applications to their fund. Information regarding this change can be found on our website.

Supporting our Nantucket Community

The Community Foundation has truly emerged as Nantucket’s philanthropic leader and resource during this pandemic. We have been extremely fortunate to partner with local philanthropists and organizations to address acute needs, which have emerged these past few weeks.

We have established the Emergency Food Fund.  This fund will support Patrick Ridge and his team at Island Kitchen. Since the closure of the Schools, Island Kitchen has been supplementing the efforts of the Public School Food Service team to ensure that all children eligible for free or reduced cost meals receive them. Many Nantucket families rely on the two meals a day which the Public Schools typically provide, and efforts are needed to ensure those meals are provided to those children in these extraordinary times.

To learn more about this fund contact Margaretta Andrews directly. We are collaborating with the Town of Nantucket, the Chamber of Commerce and many nonprofit partners to identify ways to get direct support to our residents who are unable to work during this crisis.
