Our mission is to strengthen Nantucket now and for future generations through informed philanthropy and community leadership. In pursuit of this mission we act as a:
Grant Maker:
The Foundation awards grants through the Nantucket Fund, the ReMain Nantucket Fund, and the State of MA Food Insecurity Grant, in addition to grants through donor directed funds, to address critical needs on Nantucket.
Charitable Resource:
As a leader in the Nantucket nonprofit community, we maintain an in-depth knowledge of the nonprofit sector, and provide education, discussion forums, resources, and managerial support for donors, nonprofits and the community.
Convener:
The Foundation aims to organize community leaders to affect collaborative solutions for Nantucket’s most critical issues. The Foundation does this through its advisory committee and through other community initiatives.
Steward:
As a steward in the community, the Foundation creates and manages funds to ensure a permanent legacy for charitable solutions, and provides donors with informed gift giving advice. The One Book One Island Fund is just one example of the Foundation’s 100+ charitable funds all of which impact the Nantucket community.
