We have been named one of the Top Community Foundations in the Country!

The Community Foundation for Nantucket is pleased to announce that we have been nationally ranked number 3 in Distribution Rate out of the 250 community foundations across the country that participated in the CF Insights’ Columbus Survey.

In 2018, the Foundation awarded Grants totaling $3,085,671 and closed the year with $9,106,657 in Assets, resulting in a 34% distribution rate.

This data is provided by The Columbus Survey in partnership with CF Insights of the Foundation Center. The Columbus Survey is known by many as the “census of the community foundation field,” started by the Columbus Foundation in 1988, and administered by CF Insights since 2008. The Columbus Survey collects data to demonstrate financial trends and operational activity among community foundations in the United States.

We could not have achieved this incredible honor without our generous donors and Fund Advisers. Beginning twelve years ago as a grass roots organization, today we have over 90 charitable funds, all of which make grants to Nantucket and beyond. The generosity of our community astounds us and we are heartened by our donors’ confidence in us as we continue to address the most pressing needs on the Island now and in the future.

“This Foundation was started with assets under management well under $500,000, which have now grown to over $10 million. It is truly remarkable to see where we compare to community foundations across the country. This ranking demonstrates how generous our donors are and the progress we have made over the past twelve years.” Geoff Verney, CFN Board President.
