2022 – Year of Transitions

Welcome Sunny!

2022 started with a bang! We are thrilled to welcome the Foundation’s newest employee, Program Director, Sunny Daily. Sunny joined the Foundation team in late January and brings with her a wealth of Nantucket nonprofit experience and extensive connections to Nantucket’s vibrant and diverse year-round population. Prior to joining the Foundation, Daily was the site director for Health Imperative’s island clinic. In this role, Daily not only increased the number of families accessing the clinic’s services but built the organization’s capacity and increased their community outreach programs.

Sunny will be taking over for Jeanne Miller, who has served as the Foundation’s Program Director for the past eight years and will be retiring this spring. In the role of Program Director, Sunny will oversee the Foundation’s grantmaking programs, which includes management of the Nantucket Fund and ReMain Nantucket Fund. Sunny will also help with the management and distribution of the recent $1.85 Million grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, specifically earmarked to address food insecurity.

“We are excited to have Sunny join the organization. She brings incredible energy and a desire to make a difference. I am confident that with her leadership, we will see growth within our organization and new program opportunities for our Island’s nonprofit organizations. We are grateful for the systems which Jeanne built and are excited to see how Sunny is able to grow this position and continue to increase the Foundation’s impact on our Island community.”
Margaretta Andrews, Executive Director

Thank you, Jeanne!

Jeanne Miller has been an invaluable member of the CFN team for the past eight years. She expanded our grants program and has been a tireless advocate for our Island’s nonprofits. When asked about her career highlights, Jeanne said that there were too many to count. We agree with that, but couldn’t resist bragging about our Jeanne! Here are a few highlights:
  • Managed the Nantucket Hospital Community Health initiative, helping distribute over $4 Million in grants to Nantucket Nonprofits.
  • Launched the Emergency Relief Food Initiative, partnering nonprofits and restaurants to provide over 18,000 meals to the Island.
  • Created Dignified Spaces! A collaboration between local nonprofits and interior designers. Helping create dignified offices for our Island’s nonprofit community
  • Helped build the Nantucket Fund into the Island’s permanent funding resource. Jeanne built systems which can be used in perpetuity. Every nonprofit on the Island has benefited from Jeanne
