Nantucket Fund grants are available to organizations with 501(c)(3) tax status, municipalities, or religious organizations that deliver programs and services to Nantucket residents.
The Nantucket Fund is the Community Foundation’s unrestricted funding source that provides community grants to the Island’s most critical needs and initiatives.

Eligibility for Applying for a Nantucket Fund Grant
The Community Foundation for Nantucket encourages requests for projects and programs that cultivate positive impact, and improve the quality of life for people in the Nantucket community. The following areas are examples of award categories:

- Mental Health
- Substance Use
- Housing
- Affordable Childcare
- Year-round transportation
- Senior Well-Being
- Diversity Initiatives
In addition, grant requests should:

- Propose practical ways to address community issues and challenges
- Leverage diverse sources of support (i.e. funds or volunteers)
- Stimulate community members to participate in addressing community challenges
- Assist nonprofit organizations in maximizing effective management
- Highlight cooperative efforts that minimize or eliminate duplication of service, and are sustainable over time.
Application Instructions for a Nantucket Fund Grant
Application Instructions: The Nantucket Fund Grant applications are OPEN through the CFN Online Grant Portal as of APRIL, 1, 2024. Access the online grant application portal here.
Login to the site, and complete the application for the Nantucket Fund Grant. There is a “collaborate” feature that allows multiple people to work on the same application. Applications are due July 1, 2024.
All Applications should include the following:

- Completed 2024 Grant Application, including signed Acknowledgment Form
- Names and addresses of your current Board of Trustees
- Copy of the letter from the IRS granting 501(c) (3) tax status and any subsequent IRS letters relating to your organization’s status
- Copy of your most recent Form 990N, 990EZ, or 990 and complete financial statements in accordance with Commonwealth of Massachusetts requirements
