2012 Discretionary Grants Fund
Grants Process
Grants are the primary means by which the Community Foundation for Nantucket improves and enhances the Island. Proceeds for grants come from restricted and unrestricted endowments and donations from charitably-minded organizations and individuals. The Foundation provides its expertise and objectivity in determining the most beneficial use for funds available for grantmaking. All grants are approved by the Foundation's Board of Trustees.
Help us help Nantucket!
Did you know that since 2008, the Community Foundation for Nantucket has provided direct grants to 31 different Island charities? Over $130,000 in total grants have been awarded, chosen by the Foundation’s Grants Committee, based on where the greatest needs are each year.
We have begun our 5th grant cycle, and we need your help. The money for these grants comes from generous groups and individuals around the Island who have faith in us, and we’re looking for more people to pool their donations to really make a difference. Let your Community Foundation help you invest in the Island you love – grants will be awarded in early December, 2012.
